Abstract: Brief abstract written by HRAF anthropologists who have done the subject indexing for the document
This book discusses the social structure of the people of
Lamotrek Atoll in the in the Woleai Region of the Federated Republics of Micronesia. It
argues that the ways residents of Lamotrek organized themselves into clans, subclans,
lineages and households closely resemebled with the ways this little island interacted with
the neiboring Elato, Satawal and several other islands of the Western Pacific.
